Hesse and psychological analysis
|
| |
For those of you who may be interested in discovering more about Hermann Hesse, please look into the book "The Drama of the Gifted Child," by Alice Miller.
More specifically, check out pages 86, 87, 95-103.
From a psychological perspective, Miller accounts for details and interpretations in Hesse's life that I have found no where else .. this book is worth investigating!

Dear Lex,
do you mean the 1996 edition by Basic Books? Do you have a specific interest in Hesse out of a psychological perspective? If so which? Can you suggest me further titles on this topic?
Thankyou,
Jan

Hi Jan!
I just emailed you at the address you provided ... before seeing this post.
Yeah, it's the 1997 edition by Basic Books.
I first discovered Hesse in a "history of psychology" class a few years ago. We were reviewing Miller's conceptualization of Hesse's psychological profile, which led me to Demian. After that, I went on a rampage and have nearly finished reading all of his publications.
So, to answer your question, I am more than interested in the psychological issues connected to Hesse.
Like I mentioned in my email, I will continue to look for more of my notes on the subject ... it was three years ago that I explored this topic, but I would love to revisit it again ... I'll post whatever I find ...
I'm so glad to see that some where out in this world another person is interested in this topic!
