Does anyone know who currently owns the film rights
to "The Prodigy/Beneath the Wheel"? How much would
the film rights cost? Who should I contact to find out more
information?

The holder of the rights is the publisher "Suhrkamp Verlag" in Frankfurt a.M./ Germany. Their License Department is headed by Frau Dr. Petra Christine Hardt at hardt@suhrkamp.de. It would be best to contact Ms. Hardt first who keeps track of a number of proposed projects. Film rights depend on the approval of the Hesse heirs as per Hesse's testament.
