opinions on Hesse shorts Reply to this post

I have just read a book of Hesse's short stories. The one I enjoyed most was about ten pages. It was about a "man of the forest", and he questioned. I was curious as to other opinions in regards to Hesse's shorts.

You will find some of the translated short stories by Hermann Hesse in the Noonday paperback editions of Farrar, Straus and Giroux "Tales of Student Life" (N #533), "Strange News from Another Star" (N #432), and "Stories of Five Decades" (N #455). Although most of these books are out of print, they do keep surfacing in the lists of on-line bookdealers like Amazon.com and Barnesand Noble.com who will also search for used copies for you. "Tales of Student Life" includes the "Fourth Life" which did not become part of "The Glass Bead Game"
