Where was Hesse during Hilter's reign? Where can I find his commentaries on the Nazi Regime, if they exist? Knowing his compassion for humanity, he certainly must have suffered greatly during this time.

He moved to Switzerland right before (or during I can't remember) WWI. There a lot of biographies on Hesse that go into detail about his life during WWI and WWII.
