The Hermann Hesse Page HHP welcomes submissions of papers for publication. English-language submissions should adhere to the MLA style sheet as much as possible.  We recommend that you follow the instructions in "MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers" by Joseph Gibaldi, Fifth Edition, New York: The Modern Language Association of America for format and citations.  The texts including foot-/end notes and bibliographies should be formatted preferably in Microsoft WORD. Footnotes are preferable to endnotes for our purposes because they are  more convenient for the on-line reader to view while reading texts. Please submit papers either as fully formatted attachments to email, or on diskette.  All  publications in the journal are numbered consecutively across categories.  You may cite them by Volume and Item Number, such as HHP 1.15 or Vol. I, Nr.15 and the date of publication.  Since this is the internet, authors are encouraged to submit an email address, a home web page address (URL) if available, a very brief bio-/bibliography (50-100 words)  and, if possible, a characteristic  photo all of which readers can access  directly from the web page.  Copyright for all materials is shared by the author and the Hesse Page Journal. It is governed by the copyright rules of the University of California which can be read by clicking on the © HHP logo at the top of each web page.  They can also be found at http://www.ic.ucsb.edu/~ggotts//hesse/copyright.html.  Please read thess statements for your information, benefit, and protection..
