    • The "Freundeskreis zur Erhaltung der Hermann Hesse-Stätten" (Friends for the Preservation of Hesse Homes) in Calw is attempting to acquire and restore some of the places in which Hesse lived and which figured in his books. Hesse's second-oldest son Heiner, who lives in Arcegno near Ascona, continues to play a prominent role in this effort.
